Our Foals of 2005

Mossy Oaks Farm Miniature DonkeysFuture Brood Jennets

All our babies are handled from the moment they are born (we haven't missed a birth yet) and many times daily thereafter. We pick them up and carry them around, tap their hooves, put our fingers in their mouths and ears and rub them all over their bodies. Our foals learn to trust people completely as they associate us with comfort and security. It always does my heart good when the babies come running up for loves every time I walk into their pasture.

This little boy surprised me when I came out to give the girls their morning hay.  The sun was just coming up on the horizon, hence the name.  Sunny is a fine example of the adorable face that Spankey puts on his foals.  He is shy but affectionate and will make an adorable addition to anyone's farm.
